[Entrevista] Amir: "Fui muito sortudo por ter sido apoiado por um fantástico fandom"

Amir já participou no Idol de Israel, país onde mora, e no The Voice da França, país onde nasceu. Será representante da nação francesa em Estocolmo com a música "J'ai Cherché".

Crónicas de Eurofestivais (CE): Fala-nos um pouco sobre ti.

Amir: Sou um ex-dentista que decidiu seguir o seu grande sonho e tentar começar uma carreira musical. Comecei no The Voice France mas depois disso fui muito sortudo por ter sido apoiado por um fantástico fandom que me deu coragem para acreditar na minha arte e se hoje estou a apresentar o meu primeiro álbum e a representar o meu país na Eurovisão é muito graças a eles!

CE: Como começou a tua carreira musical?

Amir: Tirei um ano após terminar os meus estudos de música, um ano que eu quis dedicar à música. Nunca imaginei que esse ano me traria ao The Voice France e chegar às finais... foi aí que eu percebi que gostaria de fazer carreira nessa área.

CE: Podes contar-nos sobre o processo até teres sido escolhido para representar a França?

Amir: Conheci Edoardo Grassi (o novo HOD da França, este ano) numa situação amigável e espontâneamente falamos sobre os meus projectos musicais. Quando ele ouviu o meu primeiro single “J’ai cherché” ele mencionou o quão bem a música soava para a Eurovisão e basicamente perguntou-me se eu estaria preparado para a levar até lá. Fiquei extremamente surpreso com a oferta porque esta música foi escrita inicialmente para o meu álbum e nós decidimos lançar o single em Janeiro como planeado e só anunciar a Eurovisão em Março e assim o público ficou familiarizado com a música e com o meu projecto musical e ficou feliz por os apoiar no concurso.

CE: Costumas seguir a Eurovisão? Qual é o teu tema preferido de sempre?

Amir: A minha família e eu sempre seguimos a Eurovisão desde que eu era uma criança. Para meu favorito, eu hesito entre "Euphoria" e "L’oiseau et l’enfant".

CE: A tua música é uma das favoritas este ano. Quais achas que são os pontos fortes da música? O que podemos esperar da tua performance?

Amir: A música traz uma mensagem universal de esperança e é cheia de alegria e faz as pessoas dançarem. Quanto à minha performance, só posso dizer que vai ser bastante moderno...

CE: Quais são as tuas músicas preferidas este ano?

Amir: Espanha, Bulgária, Austrália, Áustria, Croácia.

CE: Portugal não participa este ano no concurso, mas tens muitos fãs aqui! Queres dizer-lhes alguma coisa?

Amir: Olá aos meus fãs portugueses, a Eurovisão é fantástica porque nos permite conhecer uns aos outros, obrigado pelo apoio nesta mágica aventura!

Amir already participated in the israeli Idol, country where he lives, and in The Voice France, country where he was born. He is going to be the representant of the french nation with the song “J’ai cherché”.

Crónicas de Eurofestivais (CE):Tell us a little about yourself.

Amir: I am an ex-dentist who decided to follow his biggest dream and try to start a musical career. I have started at The Voice France but later on I was very lucky to be supported by an amazing fan base that gave me the courage to believe in my art and if today I am presenting my first album and representing my country in the Eurovision it’s a lot thanks to them!

CE: How did your musical career began? 

Amir: I took a year off after finishing my musical studies, a year I wanted to dedicate to music. I haven’t imagined that this year will bring me to sing in The Voice France and get to the finals… That’s about when I understood that I would like to make a career in this area.

CE: Can you tell us about the process until you be chosen to represent France? 

Amir: I met Edoardo Grassi (the new HOD of France this year) in a friendly situation and we spontaneously spoke about my musical project. When he listened to my first single “J’ai cherché” he mentioned how good the song sounds for the Eurovision and basically asked me if I’d be ready to take it there. I was extremely surprised by the offer because this song was written for my album initially, and we decided to release the single as planned in January and only announce the Eurovision in March so that the public gets familiar with the song and with my musical project and will be happy to support them in the contest.

CE: Do you often follow Eurovision? What’s your favorite Eurovision theme of all time?

Amir: My family and I, have always watched the ESC since I was a young boy. For my favourite, I hesitate between Euphoria and L’oiseau et l’enfant.

CE: Your song is one of the favourites for this year. What do you think are the strong points of the song? What can we expect from your performance?

Amir: The song delivers a universal message of hope and it’s full of happiness and makes people dance. Concerning my staging I can only say it is going to be very modern…

CE: What are your favorites songs this year?

Amir: Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, Austria, Croatia.

CE: Portugal don‘t participate in the contest this year, but you have a lot of fans here! Do you want to say something to them?

Amir: Hello to my Portuguese fans, Eurovision is fantastic because it allowed us to get to know each other, thank you for the support in this magical adventure!
