REPRESENTANTE DA LITUÂNIA NA EUROVISÃO 2013

Andrius Pojavis, nesta entrevista, diz ter muito medo de falhar na Eurovisão. Ainda assim, sempre desejou participar no evento e "Something" foi feita para isso. 

       Andrius Pojavis, 29 anos, sempre se envolveu na música, desde criança. Ainda assim, licenciou-se em História, ao mesmo tempo que participava em muitas bandas. Vive hoje em dia entre o seu país de origem e a Itália, onde reside com a sua mulher e filhos. No ano passado lançou o seu primeiro álbum.

Por que decidiu submeter “Something” à final nacional da Lituânia? É um programa com sucesso e importância no país?

"Sim, a Eurovisão é um concurso que muitos lituanos acompanham. “Something” foi criado propositadamente para o festival. Estava já há espera de ter uma canção para participar."

Passou as diversas fases da competição, mas nunca com grande apoio do televoto. Ganhou a final graças ao júri, embora este só lhe tenha dado 7 pontos na primeira eliminatória. Há alguma razão para justificar esta contradição?

"Acho que o público esteve sempre a apoiar-me, ao dar-me a terceira posição. “Something” talvez seja uma canção que se tem de ouvir mais do que uma vez."

Acredita que, tal como aconteceu na final nacional, a sua canção foi “feita” para os júris, e não para o televoto?

"Nunca pensei nisso. Acho que a canção foi feita para as pessoas, e talvez apenas precise de ser escutada mais vezes."

Quais são os pontos fortes de “Something”?

"O seu começo, o refrão… e o nome."

Tem medo de falhar na Eurovisão?

"Sim, muito mesmo."

Participou numa série de bandas, e atualmente divide-se entre a Itália e a Lituânia, tendo já vivido na Irlanda. De que forma todas estas experiências e lugares o influenciaram como cantor? Como se descreve?

"Todos os lugares em que vivi e todas as experiências por que passei me influenciaram, a mim e à  minha música. Não é fácil dizer aquilo que cada um dos lugares me deu em particular. Acho que a minha música me descreve melhor do que as minhas palavras. A música é emoção e vida."

De que forma o público lituano encara a Eurovisão atualmente, depois de duas passagens à final consecutivas?

"Acho que, à semelhança do que acontece noutros países, os lituanos estão à espera de ganhar."

O Festival vai-se realizar em Malmö, na Suécia. Este país tem uma das maiores indústrias musicais do mundo. Planeia beneficiar-se com isso?

"Não planeio esse tipo de coisas… Tudo vai correr de forma natural. Eu não tenho uma editora nem um produtor, e garantidamente seria muito bom encontrar alguém interessado em apoiar a minha carreira musical."

Já ouviu alguma das outras canções concorrentes à Eurovisão deste ano? Quais são as suas opiniões?

"Já ouvi algumas. Acho que há algumas canções catchy, mas não vou dizer quais…"

A Lituânia é o único país báltico que ainda não ganhou. Acha que consegue ganhar este ano?

"Nós já ganhámos!"

Na sua opinião, qual é a melhor participação lituana de sempre? E a sua preferida da Eurovisão em geral?

"Donny Montell e Loreen foram bons no ano passado."

Pode deixar algumas palavras aos fãs portugueses, por favor…

"I have to tell you SOMETHING: sigam a Eurovisão, desfrutem da música e votem em mim."

LITHUANIA'S ENTRY AT EUROVISION 2013

Andrius Pojavis, in this interview, says he is afraid of failing in Eurovision. Still, he always wanted to participate in the competition and "Something" was made for that.

        Andrius Pojavis, 29, has always been involved in music since his childhood. Still, he graduated in History, while participated in many bands. Today, he lives between his home country and Italy, where he lives with his wife and children. Last year he released his first album.

How did you decide to enter “Something” to the Lithuanian national final? Is that an important show in your country?

"Yes, Eurovision is a contest that a lot of Lithuanians are following. “Something” was created properly for this contest. I was waiting to have a song for it."

You succeed in qualifying the several rounds, but always with few support from the televoters. You won the final thanks to the jury, which gave you only 7 points in the first heat though. There’s any reason to justify this contradiction?

"I think that the people was always supporting me by giving the third position. Maybe “Something” is a song that you have to listen to more than once."

Do you believe that, as it happened in the national final, your song is “made” for the juries, and not for the general audience?

"I was not thinking on this. I think that the song is made for the people and maybe it needs just to be listened more."

What are the strong points in “Something”?

"The beginning, the chorus… and the name."

Are you afraid of failing at Eurovision?

"Yes, very much."

You participated in a lot of bands, you’re now spending time between Italy and Lithuania, but you have lived in Ireland. How all these experiences and places did influence you as singer? How can you describe yourself in music? 

"Every place where I lived and all the experience that I had influenced me and so my music. It is not easy to say what every places gave me in particular. I think that my music is describing me better than the words. Music is emotion and life."

How do the Lithuanian people see the Eurovision nowadays, after two years in a row qualifying for the final?

"I think just that, as every country, they are waiting to win."

The contest is going to be held in Malmö, Sweden. This country has one of the largest music industries in the world. Do you plan to benefit from that?

"I’m not planning such things… Everything will go in an easy way. I don’t have a label or a producer, and for sure will be great to find somebody that will want to support my music career."

Have you already heard the other entries? What are your opinions on them?

"I heard some of them. I think that there are some catchy songs, but I will not say which ones…"

Lithuania is the only Baltic country with no victories. Can Lithuania win this year?

"We already won!"

In your opinion, what is the best Lithuanian entry ever? And your favorite from the Eurovision in general?

"Donny Montell and Loreen were good last year."
