IMRI será o representante da Israel no Festival Eurovisão da Canção 2017 depois de ter vencido o Rising Star israelita. No entanto, é a terceira vez que IMRI pisa o palco eurovisivo: ele já fez parte da equipa israelita em 2015 e 2016!
Crónicas de Eurofestivais (CE): Fala-nos um pouco sobre ti.
IMRI: Sou o Imri, 25, de uma cidade nos arredores de Telavive. Tenho cantado a minha vida toda, na escola e a trabalhar como cantor numa companhia de eventos. Participei no talent show chamado "Rising Star for Eurovision" e fui coroado como vencedor, o que me trouxe onde estou agora. Estive na Eurovisão como backing vocal nos últimos dois anos.
Sou actualmente estudante do segundo ano do Bacharelado em Comunicação Visual.
CE: Como começou a tua carreira musical?
IMRI: Bem, eu cantei em imensos sítios quando era mais novo. Fiz parte da banda da escola e actuei em vários sítios por todo o mundo e fiz dobragem e cantei em alguns filmes de animação. mas a minha grande oportunidade foi ganhar o “Kochav Haba- Rising Etar to the Eurovision".
CE: Como começou a tua aventura eurovisiva?
IMRI: Recebi uma chamada do Doron Medali, que escreveu "Golden Boy" e "Made of Stars" e ele perguntou-me se eu me queria juntar a esta aventura louca e fazer backing vocal para o Nadav Guedj. Disse imediatamente que sim. Gostei tanto que tive que voltar no ano seguinte.
CE: Fizeste parte da equipa do Nada e do Hovi nos últimos dois anos. Acreditas que isso será uma vantagem? Algum deles te deu algum conselho para este ano?
IMRI: Não sei se será uma vantagem mas eu acho que certamente me irei sentir mais familiarizado e espero que menos stressado que os outros participantes que estão a viver a primeira experiência neste tipo de eventos. O Hovi é meu amigo e ele deu-me conselhos e partilhou experiências comigo por isso estou em boas mãos.
CE: Costumas ver a Eurovisão? Qual é a tua música preferida de sempre?
IMRI: Costumo e a minha preferida é "Grande Amore" dos Il Volo - a música italiana de 2015.
CE: Fazer parte da Eurovisão é o sonho de uma vida?
IMRI: Sim, desde que sou criança que sonho em estar no palco eurovisivo.
CE: Como descreves a tua música eurovisiva?
IMRI: É uma música contemporânea misturada com batidas electrónicas bem como elementos pop para criar um hino uptempo.
CE: Quais são os pontos fortes que vão fazer a tua música sobressair?
IMRI: É uma música que te faz querer dançar e que realmente te faz sentir vivo. Este ano há muitas baladas e eu espero que a minha música se vá sobressair.
CE: Podemos esperar alguma surpresa para a tua performance?
IMRI: Terão que esperar para ver, não posso dizer mais nada sobre isso por agora.
CE: O que achas da semifinal em que o teu país ficou colocado?
IMRI: Estão boas músicas na segunda semifinal mas eu estou feliz de estar nela também.
CE: Quais são as tuas expectativas para a participação na Eurovisão?
IMRI: Espero que seja uma experiência que eu vou lembrar para o resto da minha vida.
CE: Quais são as tuas músicas preferidas deste ano?
IMRI: Tenho algumas, a música suíça e a holandesa são muito boas na minha opinião.
CE: Tens algum projecto a caminho?
IMRI: Não no momento, estou realmente focado na Eurovisão e sou ainda estudante o que já é muito difícil de combinar.
CE: Queres dizer alguma coisa aos nossos leitores e aos fãs portugueses em geral?
IMRI: Quero agradecer o apoio de todos e espero ver-vos a todos em Maio a dançar e sentir vivos juntos!

IMRI is going to be the israeli contestant in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 after he won the israeli Rising Star. However, is the third time that IMRI is in the eurovision stage: he took part of the israeli team in 2015 and 2016!
Crónicas de Eurofestivais (CE): Tell us a little about yourself.
IMRI: I’m Imri ,25 from a city outside Tel Aviv. I've been singing my whole life, in school and worked as a singer at an event company . I participated in talent show called Rising star for Eurovision” and crowned as the winner. Which brought me to where I am now. I’ve been to Eurovision twice as backing vocalist in the last two years.
I’m am currently a second-year Visual Communications bachelor's degree student.
CE: How did your musical career began?
IMRI: Well I sang in many places when I was younger. I was in the school band and performed in many places around the world, I did voice over and singing to animation movies too. but my big break was winning the “Kochav Haba”-rising star to the Eurovision .
CE: How did your Eurovision adventure started?
IMRI: I got a phone call from Doron Medali who wrote “Golden boy and “made of stars” and he asked me if I wanna join this crazy adventure and do backing vocals for Nadav Guedj . I immediately said yes. I enjoyed it so much that I had to come back the following year.
CE: You were part of Nadav’s and Hovi’s crew, in the last two years. Do you believe this will be advantage? Have any of them given any advice to you for this year?
IMRI: I don’t know if it will be an advantage, but it will surly feel more familiar I guess, and hopefully less stressful then other competitors that this is their first time in this kind of event. Hovi is a friend of mine and he give me advices and share experiences with me so I’m in good hands.
CE: Do you often follow Eurovision? What’s your favorite Eurovision theme of all time?
IMRI: I do and my favorite is grand amore by IL VOLO – the Italian entry from 2015.
CE: Be part of the Eurovision Song Contest was a life dream?
IMRI: Yes since I was little I dreamt of being on Eurovision stage.
CE: How would you describe your Eurovision song?
IMRI: It’s a contemporary dance song that mixes electronic beats, as well as pop elements, to create an up tempo anthem .
CE: What would be the strong points that are going to highlight your theme song?
IMRI: That’s a song that makes you want to dance and really makes you feel alive. This year there are a lot of ballads and so I hope my song will stand out.
CE: Can we expect any surprise from your performance?
IMRI: You’ll have to wait and see, I can say anything about it yet.
CE: How do you feel about the semifinal in which your country was placed?
IMRI: Good songs are in the 2nd semi finals but I’m glad we’re in it too.
CE: What are your expectations for the participation on Eurovision?
IMRI: I expect it to be an experience I will remember for the rest of my life.
CE: What are your favorite songs this year?
IMRI: I have a few, the Swiss and the Dutch entries are really good in my opinion.
CE: Do you have future projects coming?
IMRI: Not at the moment, I’m really focusing on Eurovision these days and I’m still a student so it’s already very hard to combine.
CE: Do you want to say something to our readers and general portuguese fans?
IMRI: I want to thank everyone that support and hope to see all of you in May to dance and feel alive together!
