Os Jedward fazem parte daquele tipo de pessoas que: se não tivessem nascido, tinham de ser inventadas! Isso não implica que não tenham cometido um erro do tamanho do mundo ao voltarem este ano ao Festival. No ano passado conseguiram um milagroso lugar para aquilo que levaram, este ano estavam à espera de quê? De ganhar? Bem podiam sentar-se à sombra da bananeira!O que os gémeos nos apresentaram este ano conseguiu ser pior que o ano passado (e eu que achava isso impossível)! “Waterline” dá vontade de dormir, a dança dos manos não deu metade da animação que “Lipstick” ofereceu, as roupas conseguiram ser mais pirosas, a letra era super banal; bem, a verdade é que a Irlanda não os devia ter mandado uma vez, mas duas já foi para testar a paciência europeia (a minha perdeu-se no ano passado!). A única coisa que achei minimamente original no meio daquilo tudo foi a água, mas com eles lá no meio a emitir sons e fazer gestos estranhos (o que eles fazem é tudo menos cantar ou dançar) nem a água os safou. Aliás, algo me diz que se estivessem na segunda semi-final não tinham conseguido passar!
Se me pedissem para eleger as músicas mais animadas da Eurovisão, a ucraniana de 2007 estava sem dúvida na lista; mas se tivesse de eleger também as mais ridículas, acho que esta liderava o top! Para mim os big-5 não são aqueles que envergam esse nome, mas sim países como a Ucrânia que podem mandar um cão a ladrar para o palco eurovisivo e, mesmo assim, conseguem um lugar excelente. 2007 é um ano que me lembra sempre uma das que considero das melhores vitórias eurovisivas de sempre, mas depois lembro-me que esta coisa (peço desculpa mas isto não pode ser chamado música) alcançou um segundo lugar. E se isto tivesse ganho? Eu nem quero imaginar! “Dancing Lasha Tumbai” tem uma originalidade do outro mundo; a letra é sempre a mesma (mesmo não percebendo nada é percetível que o que o que é dito se resume ao mesmo), a “dança” é algo de extraordinário (e não digo isto no sentido positivo da palavra mas por ser mesmo algo anormal) e as “roupas” … bem, nem é preciso falar naquilo que está à vista de todas as pessoas.
À primeira vista parece que não há semelhanças entre estas duas atuações, mas não se iludam …no fundo todas estas “músicas” têm algo em comum: são deprimentes. Confesso que uma vez por outra a atuação ucraniana até tem o dom de me fazer esboçar um breve sorriso, mas ao fim de um minuto a ouvir sempre o mesmo já não consigo sorrir mais. Já a atuação dos gémeos tanto num ano como no outro não consegue ter qualquer efeito positivo em mim. Aliás não consigo sequer perceber como é possível os Jedward terem angariado tantos fãs por essa Europa fora (e tantos votos!).
Temos torturas destas todos os anos, umas mais bem pensadas, outras menos, mas o que é frustrante é o facto de estas atuações, que pretendem divertir os espetadores (e com sorte conseguir um bom lugar na classificação final), estarem a “roubar” o lugar eurovisivo a músicas e cantores que querem realmente ir à Eurovisão cantar (se é que ainda existem pessoas dessas). Estas duas (três se contarmos com as duas dos manos) atuações têm uma coisa fantástica em comum: o guarda-roupa é de uma beleza irreal (mas também qual das roupas deste tipo de “músicas” é que se encaixa nos padrões normais?). Mais, tanto Ucrânia em 2007 como Irlanda em 2011, foram das músicas mais sobrevalorizadas dos últimos anos no festival. Não importa se há ou não júris porque estes continuam a não perceber que o que mais importa é a voz (algo em que os Jedward têm sérios problemas) e não os pulinhos e as roupas diferentes (para pior).

Jedward are one of those persons that if they weren’t born they’d have to be made. That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do a terrible mistake for coming back to the contest this year. Last year they had a miraculous place for the thing they sang, but this year what were they expecting? Winning? They could sit under a tree waiting for it!The song that the twins presented us this year is even worse than last year’s (and I thought that was impossible). “Waterline” makes me want to sleep, the dance of the brothers is not as cool as last year, clothes were worse too and the lyrics really ordinary; well, the truth is Ireland shouldn’t have sent them once, but twice was to test the European patience (mine is lost since last year). The only thing I found original in that was the water, but not with them in the middle of it doing strange sound (what they do can’t be called singing). Something tells me that this year, if they was in the second semi final they wouldn’t pass.

If someone would ask me to nominate the most animated songs in the eurovision history, the ukranian song would be there for sure; but if someone would ask me to nominate the most ridiculous ones also, it would be there too. For me, the big-5 are not the ones that have that name, but countries like Ukraine that no matter what, always pass to the final and have an excellent place. 2007 always remember me of a victory that I think is one of the best ever, but then I remember that the thing (I’m sorry but that can’t be called song) got second. What if this would have won? I can’t imagine! “Dancing Lasha Tumbai” have so much imaginity; the lyrics are always the same (i don’t even need to understand them to know it), the choreography is something amazing (and i’m not saying this in the word’s good way) and the clothes … well, I don’t need to speak about what everyone can see!
On the first sight there’s nothing similar to this two songs, but there is .. deep, all of this “songs” have something in common: they’re depressing! I confess that listening to the Ukrainian music once in a while is not that bad and can make me smile, but after 1 minute I get bored! Jedward’s performance (in both years) doesn’t have any good influence in me. I can’t evdid Jedward have so many fans in Europe (and so many votes!).We have this kind of tortures every year, some better, some worse, but the frustrating is that this performances are “stealing” a place in ESC to the people who really want to go there (if that people still exist). This two (three if we count both Jedward’s) performances have something great in common: clothes are so beautiful (but every single music of this kind have clothes like this). Plus, both Ukraine in 2007 and Ireland in 2011 was some of the most overated songs in ESC history. It doesn’t matter if there are jury or not because those can’t also define that the voice is the most important thing and not the different (for worse) clothes!
