Entrevista a... Ryan Dolan

REPRESENTANTE DA IRLANDA NA EUROVISÃO 2013

Ryan diz estar orgulhoso em representar o seu país na Eurovisão e acredita numa possível vitória em Malmo. A sua música favorita eurovisiva é "Rock'n'roll Kids" e deste ano "You", de Robin Stjernberg.

       Natural de Tyorne, na Irlanda, Ryan Dolan vai, aos 27 anos, pisar o palco eurovisivo pela primeira vez, em Malmo, na 58ª edição do Festival Eurovisão da Canção.

Como reagiu quando foi convidado para participar na final nacional irlandesa? 

"Foi uma sensação incrível saber que iria representar o meu país. É um sonho tornado realidade."

Acha que o Festival Eurovisão da Canção o vai ajudar na sua carreia? É um fã eurovisivo?

"Eu sou definitivamente um fã eurovisivo, é muito importante para a minha família - e não é só de agora. Fazer parte deste festival é simplesmente fantástico e será brutal para a carreira de qualquer cantor. Certamente abrirá muitas portas para mim e espero construir uma boa base de fãs."

Qual o seu estilo musical?

"É muito dance pop. O meu ídolo musical é o falecido Michael Jackson, por isso terei sempre inspirações dele. "

Depois de sete vitórias e três anos de apuramento à final, qual é a opinião dos irlandeses sobre a Eurovisão?

"Os irlandeses adoram a Eurovisão e apoiam quem quer que esteja a representá-los. Acho que estão muito confiantes este ano, por isso só depende de mim fazer a performance da minha vida. "

O concurso vai ser realizado em Malmo, na Suécia. Este país tem uma das maiores indústrias mus

icais em todo o mundo. Pretende beneficiar com isso? 

"

É claro que vai ser uma grande plataforma para a minha música poder ser ouvida.

"

Qual a sua opinião sobre as outras músicas a concurso?

"A minha canção favorita a concurso é a do Robin Stjernberg - "You". Eu tenho de facto concorrência forte este ano."

Acha que "Only Love Survives" pode ser uma possível vencedora este ano?

"Acho que "Only Love Survives" tem a vantagem de ser atual, cativante e a letra tem um significado que atinge bastantes pessoas, portanto pode muito bem ser a vencedora."

Na sua opinião, qual a melhor música irlandesa levada ao certame? E a sua favorita da Eurovisão em geral?

"O meu favorito em geral é irlandês, o clássico "Rock n Roll Kids."

Pode deixar algumas palavras aos fãs portugueses?

"Oi, malta! Só espero que votem em mim em Malmo!"

IRELAND'S ENTRY AT EUROVISION 2013

Ryan says he is proud to represent his country at the Eurovision and believes in a possible victory in Malmo. His favorite Eurovision song is "Rock'n'Roll Kids" and from this year, it is "You", by Robin Stjernberg.

       From Tyorne, in Ireland, Ryan Dolan will, at the age of 27, perform at the Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmo, in its 58th edition.

How did you react when you received the invitation to participate in the selection of the Irish song for Malmö?

"It was an amazing feeling knowing that I’m going to be representing my country. It’s a dream come true"

How do you think the festival will help you and your career? Are you a Eurovision fan?

"I’m definitely a Eurovision fan, it’s a big thing in my family and has been for years. Being part of the Eurovision festival is just amazing and will be huge for anybody’s career it is definitely going to open a lot of doors for me and hopefully my fan base will grow."

What is your style of music?

"It’s very much dance pop. My music idol growing up would be the late Michael Jackson so elements of that always shines through."

After seven victories and three years qualifying to the final, how is the general Irish opinion about Eurovision?

"The Irish love Eurovision and really get behind whoever is representing the country, I think we are all very confident this year so it’s just up to me to  do my best and give the performance of my life."

The contest is going to be held in Malmö, Sweden. This country has one of the largest music industries in the world. Do you plan to benefit from that?

"It's of course going to be a great platform for my music to be heard."

What are your opinions on the other entries?

"My favourite song in this year’s contest would be Robin Stjernberg’s - You. I really have tough competition in this year’s contest"

Do you think that “Only Love Survives” can be a possible winner this year?

"I think “Only Love Survives” has the edge its current, catchy and the lyrics have meaning that reaches out to a lot of people so it could definitely be the winning song!"

In your opinion, what is the best Irish entry ever? And your favorite from the Eurovision in general?

"My overall favourite just happens to be Irish, it’s the classic Rock n Roll kids for me."

Can you please leave some words to the Portuguese fans?

"Hi Everybody….just hope you all vote for me in Malmo!"
